Why I Enjoy Web Development
I build websites. Though it's not what I originally set out to do career wise, I'm glad that's where I've landed. Ever since I was young I've wanted to engineer and design things. I'm an inventor at heart. That's why I enjoy web development—there's problem solving, creativity, a fast-paced environment and ample opportunities to work with bright people. By building and optimizing websites I'm inventing a part of the world that can be experienced by the masses. I enjoy project management, working with clients and the feeling of a project well-done. It has become a fulfilling way for me to earn a living—while both working for web-based companies and for individualized projects in my personal time.
What I'm Good At
In the grand scheme of things, I could be classified as a front end web developer. I've excelled at cross-browser friendly front-end programming in xhtml, CSS and Javascript. I've spent years of development time with designers, backend developers, SEOs, content writers and usability gurus. It has been my goal to learn from each of these people, and become a well-rounded and experienced developer. When customers tell me what they're looking for, I always make it a point to consult with my clients, share my experience and make decisions based on market/business analysis and search engine strategies, particularly when working on advertising campaigns. Quite often I’m able to throw light on projects and exceed customer expectations.
